Usage and Billing

Usage pages help you understand how your workspace is consuming InstaMCP features.

What Counts as Usage

Usage can include:

  • Chat messages.
  • Widget conversations.
  • Tool calls.
  • Voice sessions.
  • Canvas renders.
  • Knowledge Base retrieval.

Available metrics depend on your workspace and enabled features.

Managed Subscription Accounts

Managed subscription accounts use credits, wallet balance, and included allowances.

Typical order:

  1. Included allowances are used where applicable.
  2. Monthly credits are deducted.
  3. Wallet balance is deducted.
  4. If no usable balance remains, new billable usage is blocked.

Completed work can cost slightly more than the balance available at the start because final usage is known only after completion.

Tool Call Allowance

Some plans include remaining tool calls. Tool calls may use that allowance first. After the allowance is exhausted, additional tool usage is charged through credits or wallet balance.

Empty Balance Behavior

If both credits and wallet balance are empty, new managed usage may fail with a clear billing or usage limit message.

Add wallet balance or contact support to continue.

Custom Provider Accounts

Custom provider accounts use their own provider keys. Provider usage and billing may be handled outside InstaMCP.

Your workspace may still show integration and usage metrics for observability.

What to Monitor

Check:

  • Total chat usage.
  • Tool call volume.
  • Voice session volume.
  • Canvas renders.
  • Integration-level usage.
  • Error or failure trends.

Billing Support

Contact support when:

  • You need more credits or a plan change.
  • Your workspace should have enterprise billing.
  • Usage is blocked unexpectedly.
  • You need help understanding a charge or usage spike.
